Gastonia saw an influx of new dentists in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s to support its surging
medical needs. Dr. S. Everett Moser, an expert in dental surgery, came in the mid-1920s to set
up a practice. So respected was his surgical ability, he was selected Chief of Staff at Gaston
Memorial Hospital near the end of his remarkable 50-year career. Many of the Goose Club
members and their families were Dr Moser’s long-time patients. Dr. Moser, like many of fellow
members, was both a member and former President of the Gaston Country club.
